Item Description
These fairly new and incredibly interesting pyrite concretions are some of the most unique specimens that I have seen from any locality. The small, sparkling, sharp, modified, metallic pyrite crystals have formed in amazingly concentric "rings" or "bands" on a flattened oval "sphere" of shale. The specimen resembles some kind of strange planet, and almost has an organic look to it. A very cool "floater" specimen and certainly unusual. This one is RARE, as this is the ONLY one we have offered at auction, that is richly peppered on the top with iridescent, golden chalcopyrite microcrystals. Our Chinese source was able to come up with one more flat of this highly desirable and very unusual material.
