Item Description

An excellent and aesthetic mounded plate of bright, shiny, tiny pyrite crystals surrounded by larger pyrite cubes to 6 mm from the Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport in Texas. This locality is now extinct, as runway expansion obliterated the stream bank, where these were found in a Cretaceous shale layer. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. The locality was imperfectly known when Howard purchased this piece, as the locality is listed as Love Field on his label. D-FW airport was built in the early 1970s.
