Item Description
Dense, amazingly concentric "rings" or "bands" of tiny, sparkly, microcrystalline pyrite on this impressive shale "sphere". These surreal Pyrite concretions are some of the most unique specimens that we have seen from any locality. The specimen resembles some kind of strange planet, and almost has an organic look to it. A very cool "floater" specimen and certainly unusual. This piece is more densely banded, than most we have seen. A few small contacts/scuffs are certainly a modest detraction. The piece of embedded toilet paper on the bottom of the piece has been removed. Mass is 1752 grams or 3.9 pounds.
