Item Description
This is a great old-time display specimen featuring sharp, lustrous, brassy, striated slightly modified cubic crystals of Pyrite measuring up to 1.4 cm on chloritic schist matrix. Fairly good shape overall, with only a little damage, and it's an attractive, great old time specimen of this classic material. You don't see these anymore on the market, but they are some of the most iconic Pyrite specimens from any locality in New England. From the collection of Lee B. Burnett of Morrison, Colorado (#LB 392) and accompanied by an old label from Harvard University Mineralogical Museum (#92688) which mentions P. S. Smith, who could have possibly been the donor of the specimen to the museum.
