Item Description

Elba Pyrites are world-famous for their quality, size and crystallization. These specimens have been known for centuries, but have endured as some of the most impressive examples of the species ever found, which is saying something for one of the most common sulfides on the planet. This specimen features fine, sharp, attractive pyritohedral crystals with good luster and that classic soft golden metallic hue. The largest crystal measures 4.2 cm across. No major damage on the display side, though it's incomplete on the back, but it does feature some small metallic silvery-black colored Hematite blades. An wonderful, eye-catching example of these iconic and historic specimens.
