Item Description

This is a very aesthetic display quality specimen of these world-famous Pyrites from Navajun. Not only are these Pyrite some of the most iconic examples of the species every found, I think most people would agree that these specimens are the most well-known cubic Pyrites ever found in terms of quantity and quality. Many thousands of these impressive crystals have been found at Navajun, which is mined only for these specimens from what I'm told. The impressive combination of the textbook crystal form, along with the stunningly razor sharp faces and impressive luster make them highly desirable. Sure, Pyrite might be a common mineral, but when the quality gets this good, you have to appreciate it for what it is. The majority of crystals you'll see from this locality are loose singles off matrix. It's hard enough to get ONE crystal on matrix, but this piece features multiple cubes measuring up to 1.8 cm on edge beautifully sitting on host rock matrix. I can see few TINY Wilbers, but the piece is virtually damage free and it displays wonderfully. Top quality, great form, super showy and a wonderful example of this classic material from Spain.
