Item Description

Pyrite is probably the most recognizable sulfide in the world. Even people who don't have any knowledge about minerals have heard of Pyrite, mostly because it has been found at thousands of localities. Almost every collector will tell you that when it comes to cubic crystals of Pyrite, there is no locality more productive and esteemed than the Ampliación a Victoria Mine in Navajún, Spain. For decades, the finest examples of the most common form of Pyrite have been found at this locality, consistently in fine quality specimens with textbook crystals. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of Pyrite ever seen, at least in cubic form. This piece features a pair of superb, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, soft golden metallic colored cubes of Pyrite measuring up to 2.5 cm on edge, aesthetically perched atop the host rock matrix. The piece is UN-repaired (which is important as many of them have to be glued back on the matrix), and with the exception of a small imperfections, I can't find any major damage.
