Item Description

A striking 4.3 cm pyrite crystal dominates this sculptural 270-degree small cabinet of densely intergrown pyritohedrons from the famed Huanzala Mine of Peru. Striated stepped-growth faces dramatically highlight the myriad of sharp, splendent, brassy crystals. Nearly pristine, with only a few trivial bruises, for all the crystal density. Two attachment faces can be strongly minimized by correct display angles of this showy piece. Ex Richard Rossi Collection. Richard is a Senior Fellow of the Mineralogical Record. Huanzala is easily one of the premier pyrite localities in the world and this classic and excellent example of this varietal.
