Item Description
The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this CABINET specimen is an outstanding example. Distinctively striated, moderately lustrous, light brassy, intergrown, pyrite cubes cover the sculptural specimen. The largest crystal is 2.8 cm The pyrite cubes are richly overgrown with unusually formed, mostly flattened sphalerite crystals, that have galena fortification look. The textbook form and intense striations are top notch. A bit of edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction. Classic Huanzala material with several excellent display views! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. Ex Consie Prince Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
