Dramatically sculptural 360-degree intergrown pyrite cubes from the famous Spanish deposits at Navajun. The 10 razor-sharp cubes have brilliant lustre and beautiful metallic pale golden color. The large cube is 4.0 cm on this striking small cabinet. Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most easily recognizeable and abundant display specimens in the world. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species. A modest bit of contacting and edge wear is noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well known among collectors. NOTE that in the process of excavation, most such crystal clusters come apart and are thus reassembled (as is the case on this piece). This is a fine quality specimen in this size range for a representative specimen good enough for any collection! It displays well in any orientation! Natural Cubist art. Impressive.
