Striking Navajun cubic pyrites are certainly one of most recognizable mineral species in the world and are among the world's finest examples of the species. This aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet cluster of striking, sharp, intergrown, brilliant brass-yellow cubes is dominated by the large 4.0 x 3.7 x 3.5 cm cube. The association of the intergrown cubes with every turn is fascinating. Most such pieces are repaired, as is the case with this specimen. A trivial bit of edge wear and some contacting are noted, but this remains an excellent highly representative example of the locality and species. Some of the sharp contacting actually enhances the allure of the piece. Comes with a custom-made lucite base valued at $145, for free.
