Item Description

Colorado's famous extinct Zn-Pb-Ag-Cu-Au-Mn Eagle Mine is best known for fine pyrite and golden barite specimens. Most pyrite specimens consist of well-formed pyritohedrons. However, this very showy and rich rarity is covered with sharp cubes. The densely intergrown cubes, to 1.4 cm, have splendent brassy lustre which enhances the well-defined sharp striations on the crystal faces. A solid pyrite specimen, as the cubes rest on granular pyrite. The interior is pristine and the bit of noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this RARE and excellent cubic style of pyrite from this noted locale.
