Item Description

Pyrite cubes are far less common from this famous Colorado locality, noted for fine pyritohedrons. A striking, intergrown cluster of mirror-bright, brass-yellow, pyrite cubes is jauntily set on massive sphalerite and beautifully accented with a field of glassy calcite scalenohedrons. Rare combination material in this fine quality with cubic pyrite. Ex Harold Urish Collection # 264 and purchased from Bob Klos in 1989. Undoubtably, the Franklin Mine on the labels refers to the Eagle Mine being owned by the New Jersey Zinc Company. Essentially pristine, with only one small spot of barely noticeable periphery wear to the pyrite on one side. A must for the locality or species collector.
