Item Description

Typically we see copper in the form of Azurite and Malachite from Milpillas, but the "sulfide" zone has recently produced some attractive specimens. This fine miniature display piece features a sharp, rather lustrous (splendent), golden metallic crystal of Pyrite measuring 1.8 cm across perched atop matrix. The crystal is damage free to the naked eye. If you collect Mexican minerals, worldwide Pyrites, sulfides or even specifically pieces from Milpillas, don't miss out on this one. These are GOOD specimens, and should be recognized as such. Milpillas may or may not produce more Azurites and Malachites, it's hard to know who to believe, but these Pyrites are limited for sure, and if you want one, don't pass them up, because like most localities, the material goes away fast, and then it's very difficult to find good quality pieces for decent prices.
