Item Description

The Siglo XX mine is probably best known for it's phosphate species, but there are some very attractive Pyrite specimens that come out from time to time. This piece is a rather interesting display piece featuring a predominant, 3.5 cm, very sharp, VERY lustrous, cuboctahedral crystal of Pyrite with smooth broad faces, that is dotted by smaller accenting Pyrites on matrix. The specimen is in excellent shape, with only minor damage here and there. This piece is honestly one of the best Pyrites from this locality that I have offered in the auctions in a while. The majority of Pyrites from the Siglo XX mine have such terrible damage that they wouldn't even be worth the cost of shipping to bring them back to the States. A good Pyrite specimen for a Pyrite collector or a specimen to add to a Bolivian or sulfide suite. Valued at $600.
