Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most easily recognizeable and iconic display specimens in the world. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species. This piece features a pristine, 1.9 cm razor-sharp, highly lustrous, metallic soft golden color cube of pyrite aesthetically set on matrix. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well-known among collectors. Note that in the process of excavation, most such crystals pop out and are thus reattached to the matrix (it is hard to tell on this piece). Natural Cubist art. Impressive.
