Item Description
Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most easily recognizeable and abundant display specimens in the world. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species. The elegant intergrown cluster of razor-sharp, mirror-bright, metallic pale golden color cubes is striking. The cute small pair at the top has only very trivial edge wear. One cube in the larger pair has one corner with trivial bruising and there is a small, inconsequential chip out of the same cube, where the crystals are in contact. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well known among collectors. Note that in the process of excavation, most such crystals pop out and are thus reattached to the matrix (it is hard to tell on this piece). This is a fine quality specimen in this size range, with impressive visual appeal and displays well without aid. It is a representative specimen good enough for any collection! Natural Cubist art. Impressive.
