Item Description

Pyrite is a common sulfide mineral, which has been found in thousands of world localities in a myriad of styles and habit. The iconic crystals from the Navajun area in Spain are arguably the most easily recognizable and representative examples of Pyrite in the world. The superb, classic textbook cubes are about as good as you will find for the species, both in terms of quality and quantity. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species, at least in cubic form. This piece features a 2.7 cm razor-sharp, highly lustrous, metallic soft golden color cube of Pyrite aesthetically flaring off matrix. A few secondary smaller Pyrites can be seen on the side of the piece for a nice touch. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its Pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well known among collectors, and pieces like this are wonderful representations of the material.
