Item Description

An adorable, slightly smaller pyrite thumbnail from the Merelani Hills. This mirror luster, brassy, complex crystal has fewer crystal faces than the previous Merelani thumbnail, but still exhibits cubic, octahedral and pyritohedral faces. And it has fewer bruises and less edgewear. This deposit is renowned for the world's finest tanzanite and exceptional diopside and grossular garnet specimens and other species. Pyrite is now included in the list of excellent specimens. From the noted Alex Schauss Thumbnail Collection.
