Item Description

Here we have a beautiful full cabinet sized display piece of Pyrite in a mounded cluster of intergrown lustrous brassy pyritohedra from this famous Italian Pyrite mine, which closed prior to 1984. The crystals are fine quality, measuring up to 4.1 cm across, and despite some little nicks on the front/display side (the piece is contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall), it's largely damage-free. Pyrite from this mine is world-class and rivals other Pyrite specimen from Rio Marina on Elba Island, Peru, Spain and Washington State. A fine example of one of the most well-known sulfides in the world. A very good example for the locality.
Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection.
