You can find Pyrite from literally thousands of localities in the world, but the world-famous specimens from the Ampliación a Victoria Mine near the village of Navajún, Spain are among the finest examples of the species ever found. Due to the fact that thousands of pieces are found each year, their abundance on the market might cause some to dismiss their worth, but these are truly amazing examples of crystallized Pyrite, and the fact that they are so plentiful makes them all the more impressive in my mind. If there were only a handful of these pieces on the market, they certainly would be more valuable, but you just don't see Pyrites like this from almost anywhere else, and I think they should be celebrated for their superior quality. This piece is a classic example of these famous Pyrites features a pair of textbook, razor-sharp, highly lustrous (splendent), metallic golden color cubes measuring up to 4.0 cm on edge, aesthetically intergrown to create a beautiful display piece. A few minor nicks are visible, but nothing overly distracting, and it's still a complete "floater". The piece is not repaired (some of them have to be glued to back together because the crystals "pop" out of the matrix).
