Item Description

Sharp, super lustrous, machine-carved-looking pyrargyrites to 6 mm aesthetically clustered at the top of the matrix make this a fine specimen. The crystals are not big, but they have presence, and they light up when backlit. The very hefty matrix appears to be massive pyrargyrite and is richly covered with glassy calcite rhombs. A very fine old combination classic from this important mining district. Ex Websky Collection and comes with two fabulous 19th Century labels, one with hand drawn crystal sketchs and was also in the Fred Cassirer Collection. Fred was a world-renowned dealer/collector. Certainly over 100 years old. The labels alone are just awesome, for style and to see what somebody thought of this study piece at the time. Ex Herb Obodda Collection # 2853.
