Pyrargyrite is VERY RARE from any of the numerous silver-cobalt mines of this famous mining region. Mineral specimens of any type are rare from the Siscoe Mine. MINDAT lists pyrargyrite, but there are no examples in the locality Photo Gallery, making it EXTREMELY RARE. Scintillating wine-red to cherry-red microcrystals are festooned on the blocky small cabinet matrix. The crystals GLOW with cherry-red gemminess under bright light. This old silver-cobalt mine was discovered in 1908 and produced into the 1960s. RARE, rich and exceptional pyrargyrite from the Cobalt-Gowganda region.
