Item Description
A dramatic and rare old-time combination specimen from this well-known Freiberg mine. Sharply terminated, lustrous, sooty-gray pyrargyrite crystals to 5 mm partially line the striking see-through vug in intergrown, glassy, fluorite cubes with an iron-oxide tint. Several vugs on the wormy/vuggy back side are lined with pyrargyrite microcrystals. Pyrargyrite and fluorite combos are rare from the famous Himmelfahrt Mine. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and from the Dr. Werner Lieber Collection, according to his label. Acquired in 1976. Modest purple fluorescence.
