Pyrargyrite (huge, fat crystals)

Item Description

This cluster contains a fine, robust crystal of the Silver mineral Pyrargyrite, from the important locality of Fresnillo. The central crystal is 1.8 cm tall and 2.3 cm across, and it has good metallic luster and a very good termination. The appearance of these Pyrargyrites is eye-catching with lots of reflections and the desired cherry-red glow when backlit. Originally priced at $1,500 in the 1990s, this was last valued at Heritage Auctions for $2500-23500.
