Item Description

An outstanding and rare combination old-timer from the famous Samson Mine and the Ken Rippere Collection. St. Andreasberg is the Type Locality for harmotome (1801). Classic, glassy, twinned, harmotome crystals to 7 mm in association with a rich and showy cluster of pyrargyrite crystals from the famous Samson Mine is RARE and desirable, indeed. The splendent, sharp, silver-metallic pyrargyrite crystals have textbook form and some crystals exhibit points of classic, "ruby silver" gemminess under bright light. The striking large crystal is 2.3 x 1.5 x 1.0 cm and three other crystals are about 1.0 cm. Very rare, choice and old-time combination material from this historic mine. Valued at $1200-1500.
