Item Description

This specimen is from a find from about 20 years ago in Fresnillo. The piece has actually been stored in a closed box in a dark room for the entire time, which I think has contributed to the strength of the color. You can se there are sharp, lustrous, metallic silvery color crystals with striated modifications, and an electric blood red color inside when strongly backlit. Very beautiful! A wonderful thumbnail of this world famous "ruby silver" material. The finest Pyrargyrites in the world are found at Fresnillo, and even smaller pieces like this are truly impressive when you see such fine crystallization combined with the fac that it's a transparent sulfosalt! The front of the piece is in excellent shape, where the back is contacted from being removed from the pocket.
