Pyrargyrite (fine crystal)

Of the "Ruby Silver" mineral species, Pyrargyrite is the most well-known an abundant. What makes this material so desirable is that It's one of the few silver-bearing sulfosalts that is not opaque, and fine crystals show a fiery intense red hue internally when backlit. Some of the finest examples of the species ever found are those from Fresnillo, Mexico, and while they typically do not show much red color, they make up for it with superb crystallization and size. This piece is a beautiful and showy XXXXXXXX sized piece featuring a sharp, rather lustrous, deep silvery-black metallic colored, striated crystal with minor Calcite, free of matrix. When strongly backlit, the crystal shows a fiery deep ruby red color internally. I can't find any damage with the naked eye, though the base is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall. It's hard to convey the quality in a photo or video, but I encourage anyone interested in this piece to look closely at the video to get the full scope of the specimen.
