Item Description
Purpurite is a rare manganese phosphate species, and a member of the Triphylite Group. It's found in a fair number of world localities, but it's RARE from Colorado, only found in a select few places in Larimer County. Beautiful rich pinkish-purple Purpurite crusts with a bright almost pseudo-metallic sheen are visible on both sides of the matrix on this rich and excellent example from a hard to find Colorado locale.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell.
