Item Description

These three speices are uncommon Mn, Fe, Mn phosphates found in granitic pegmatites. Rich violet heterosite crusts are very common on all sides of the large sculptural feldspar matrix, as are purplish-gray crusts of purpurite. Dirty yellow to greenish-black crusts of alluaudite are scattered about. Heterosite is frequently artificially colored bright purple through acid treatment, as is probably the case with this piece. Combination specimens of these phosphates are RARE from this obscure locale. This piece displays well without aid. A must for the locality or species collector.
