Purpurite is the very rare manganese iron phosphate, and specimens usually come from the manganese-rich area of Southwest Africa. The species is prized for both its rarity and its intense purple color. There is iridescent Purpurite on both sides of this rich specimen. Rare on the market, and arguably some of the best pieces in the world are found at Sandamap.
