Item Description
An intense, oldtime purple topaz from sporadic small pockets hit in the 1980s Recently, again, such a find was hit but the crystals were to only 3 cm, and very thin and skinny. This is a gorgeous color, a true purple grading to magenta at the termination! I am aware of no other locality with this intensity of purple color in topaz, and these finds have always been justifiably famous and sought after. This piece is complete all around with just minute and trivial edge wear, remarkable really from wha tI understand of how these were collected and treated as gem rough and not specimens at first. It is a robust crystal here, much more important in size than many examples I have seen, at 15 grams. I think this piece is fairly worth anything from $3000-4000 USD, for its rarity, quality, and color impact.
