Item Description

These exciting attractive "Grape Agate" or "Grape Chalcedony" specimens from Indonesia have been one of most interesting finds in the mineral world in the last few years. It's hard to find anything these days that doesn't resemble anything we've seen before, but these pieces are certainly unique in terms of form and color, which is hard to find in terms of Quartz. So it's easy to see how these pieces got their nickname since they truly do resemble bunches of grapes. Sadly, as quickly as these pieces ended up on the market, they seemed to have disappeared nearly as fast, as little is on the market right now. This piece is a wonderful small cabinet featuring spherical to semi-spherical, translucent, "balls" measuring up to about 4 mm free of matrix. This piece is nearly what I would call a complete "floater" as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around. The color is consistent throughout. The piece is in great condition all over, and this is a great chance to own a showy piece of this odd and eye-catching material.
