Item Description

These new "Grape Agate" or "Grape Chalcedony" specimens from Indonesia certainly have made their mark in the mineral world these past few years. They are unique in terms of form and color, which is hard to find in the mineral world in terms of Quartz. Obviously these pieces got their nickname because they truly look like bunches of grapes. Sadly, as quickly as these pieces ended up on the market, they seemed to have disappeared nearly as fast, as little is on the market right now. This piece is a wonderful small cabinet featuring spherical to semi-spherical, translucent, "balls" measuring up to about 3.5 mm free of matrix. This piece is nearly what I would call a complete "floater" as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around. The upper portion shows a lovely purple hue which transitions into a stark white color at the base. The piece is in great all around, and this is a great chance to own a showy piece of this odd and eye-catching material.
