Item Description

This is a beautiful example of the now well-known Purple Chalcedony from Indonesia. This material is found at the same locality at the fairly new botryoidal Amethyst (sometimes called "Grape Amethyst" or "Grape Chalcedony"). It can ranges in color from a soft silvery-lavender to a rich purple hue. Chalcedony is essentially uncrystallized Quartz and occurs in a wide variety of colors, but purple is always popular with collectors. This piece in an artfully carved 5-sided star with a lovely soft purple color. The piece has excellent internal translucency when backlit. You don't see many Chalcedony carvings on the market like this, so don't miss out. If you've been looking for unique Chalcedony, do not let this one get away, as they are difficult to find this size and quality.
