"Pumpkin" Calcite (NEW FIND)

Rich "pumpkin orange" color on this very pleasing and unusually colored calcite, from a NEW, late 2018 find in Daye County. This is a dramatic and sculptural large two generation cabinet calcite plate. The 3-dimensional blocky crust of larger first generation, sharp, lustrous, translucent, dogtooth calcite crystals, to 2.6 cm, is strikingly overgrown with a myriad of smaller dogtooth rhombs. Daye County is well-known for outstanding calcite specimens and this is an exceptional, uncommon color and style 360-degree specimen. The interior is pristine and the noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this exotic, most colorful and rare large specimen. Choice 2-generation calcite from the limited find.
