Item Description

Pumpellyite-(Al) is a rare hydrated complex silicate only approved in 2005. This active quarry is the Type Locality. The red arrow on the sawed basalt slab points toward a 4 mm, complete radial spray of pearlescent acicular crystals. Numerous other partial radial sections are noted on the piece. A highly representative example of the rare species and locale from the Josef Vajdak Collection.
