Item Description

Rarely seen botyroidal "Psilomelane" (manganese oxide) with small fragments of Quartz and host rock on the exterior edges. Each side of the piece shows a bit of exposed grey-black Psilomelane. This is hard to find material, as I've never encountered one before, and I can't find any examples for comparison online, so don't miss out. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2330). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
