Item Description
Pseudomalachite is an uncommon anhydrous Cu-phosphate. Dense clusters of sharp, forest-green crystals are scattered on the very vuggy oxided-coated quartz matrix colorfully accented with contrasting lavender chalcedony. This is a rich old-time combination specimen from the historic Type Locality - the Virneberg Mine. An ancient copper mine, worked intermittently from 1611 to 1872, was already worked for copper in Roman times (MINDAT). Ex Michael Cooper Collection. Mick was a well-known English collector and author who passed away in 2008.
