Item Description
This small open-pit copper mine furnished world-class specimens of Pseudomalachite, an anhydrous copper phosphate, in the 1980s and early 1990s. This sculptural and colorful large combination piece features a striking large cluster of lustrous, rich dark green bladed Pseudomalachite botryoids on one face and edge and scattered smaller clusters and individuals elsewhere. Coatings of powder blue Chrysocolla are a dramatic contrast along with the orange oxide coatings on the impressive large terminated Quartz crystal. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Specimens of this size, richness and combination quality are RARE and this is an exceptional example. valued 1500-2000
