Item Description
Ehlite is the old-time synonym for pseudomalachite, named after the village of Ehl, near Linz, in the Rhine valley, Germany, where pseudomalachite was first found. Bright green hemispheres of translucent microcrystals, especially on the front are noted on five of the six sides of the blocky chalcedony quartz matrix. The mines in this area were only active for a short time in the early 1800s, so specimens from here are old and very uncommon. Fine and rich old-time material from the Sal Avella Collection.
