Item Description

PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is labeled as coming from "Chibiluma, Northern Rhodesia", but I'm certain it was meant to say from Zambia (not Zimbabwe). A wonderful small cabinet sized specimen featuring lovely rich blue-green, botryoidal formations of this hard to find copper phosphate on oxidized matrix. This is hard to find material, and certainly impossible to find from Chibiluma. This particular piece is as good as anything we've had to offer from this locality. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011. This piece was priced in the inventory at $700.
