Item Description

Pseudomalachite is an uncommon secondary copper phosphate mineral found in the oxidized zones of copper deposits. This RARE and showy old-time combination is from the historic copper mines of the Urals, which produced the malachite for the fantastic large urns and for decorative work for Imperial Russia. Bright green nubby balls of pseudomalachite are attractively scattered on the vuggy matrix, that contains RARE for the locale tabular gray calcite? or some other unknown softer mineral. Old-time seldom available material with a fine provenance according to the Herb Obodda label. Formerly in the Clarence Bement Collection. Financier J.P. Morgan purchased his 12500 piece collection in 1900 and gave it to the American Museum. Value??
