Item Description

An striking specimen with lustrous, pseudocubic, bipyramidal and blocky, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals festooned on a very sturdy, 3-dimensional, vuggy gossan matrix and beautifully complimented by botryoidal green mimetite from a recent find at the famous Mina Ojuela at Mapimi, Mexico. This very showy piece has very few broken crystals, as you can see, for such rich coverage. This is a recent find, from just before the 2008 Denver Show, where we debuted the lot. We got most of the lot. This is an excellent representation of this find, not a cast-off, and we want to have our auction customers to have an opportunity to obtain a fine piece from the second major Mexican wulfenite find, since the San Francisco wulfies in the mid-90s. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein.
