Item Description
Lustrous, pseudocubic, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals are scattered on both sides of the sturdy gossan matrix and are beautifully complimented by botryoidal green mimetite from a recent find at the famous Mina Ojuela at Mapimi, Mexico. The largest wulfenite crystal is 1.2 cm and is doubly terminated. This very showy piece is festooned on one side with tiny, sparkly wulfenites and mimetite botryoids with the other side having striking and beautiful, spare coverage. A few of the pseudocubic crystals are gently bruised, but this piece is an excellent representation of this fecent find, not a cast-off. This find is from just before the 2008 Denver Show, where we debuted the lot. This is an opportunity to obtain a fine piece from the second major Mexican wulfenite find, since the San Francisco wulfies in the mid-90s. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein.
