Pseudocubic Wulfenite (rare Perkin label)

An outstanding, aesthetic, RARE style, old wulfenite thumbnail from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos. Two striking blocky, tabular, lustrous, pseudocubic wulfenite crystals are artistically set on the calcite matrix. The stunning, pristine, large well-placed crystal is 1.9 cm, doubly terminated and has the interesting "sandwich-style" with a darker center. See the 2003 Mineralogical Record article in Mexico Special Issue III, Vol. 34, No. 6. Previously from the Willard Perkin collection or dealer stock (note the label on his 1960s-70s-era styrofoam base). He is generally credited as the inventor of the "Perky box" for standard thumbnails display. A VERY RARE old-time wulfenite style from the noted locale. These labels are treasured!
