Item Description
Supremely isolated and discrete, blocky pseudocubic wulfenite crystals are very aestheticaly scattered on the striking, contrasting, rippled, banded, calcite-coated matrix on this dramatic LARGE CABINET specimen from the famous Ahumada Mine at Los Lamentos. The highly lustrous, translucent, caramel-colored wulfies are up to 8 mm and many of the crystal faces have an unusual rippled texture. The wulfenites look like square pebbles on a rippled, sandy beach! The unique architecture of this large piece is indeed, impressive. Wulfenite crystal isolation, such as this, is very rare from Los Lamentos, as most specimens are clusters. Older material from this noted locale from the Robert Whitmore Collection # 252 with a 1970 date. Valued $1000-1250 I think fairly, for size and remarkable large field of view with stark contrast
