Item Description
The Thomas Range in Western Utah is famous for producing superb crystals of Red Beryl, Bixbyite and sherry colored Topaz, but it also produces some of the world most well-known and finest quality examples of Pseudobrookite. This toenail sized specimen features a matrix of beige rhyolite host rock with a vug in center that hosts a "star"-like spray of thin brownish-black needles and blades of Pseudobrookite surrounded by little sparkling colorless Quartz crystals. The Pseudobrookite group measures about 6 mm across, and looks beautiful up close when it is viewed under magnification. A great example of this beautiful classic material from this historic specimen producing area. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2536). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
