pseudo-cubic Smoky Quartz and Cleavelandite

RARE large pseudo-cubic smoky-ish quartz dominates and highlights this very unusual and showy combination from the famous Himalaya Mine. It is not the classic tourmaline from this mine, but it is still a great location specimen! The 6.6 cm tall x 5.7 cm wide translucent crystal with satin luster faces is artistically set on the sculptural matrix of intergrown, frosted, bladed, cleavelandite balls. The terminated 3.0 cm smoky is a fine accessory. Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. Bill was the owner of the mine and collected the piece in the 1980s. It is a superb and RARE style smoky quartz for San Diego.
