Item Description
This specimen is from a find from about 20 years ago at Uchucchacua. You can se there are a few sharp, lustrous, metallic silvery colored crystals that show an electric blood red color inside when strongly backlit. Addition crystals of Tennantite (silver-bering Tetrahedrite) make for a nice touch on the white Calcite crystals. Very beautiful up close! The largest crystal measures 7 mm, and they look fantastic with a good light behind them. A wonderful small cabinet of this world famous "ruby silver" material. Some of the best Proustites from South America are found at this and pieces like this are truly impressive when you see such fine crystallization combined with the fact that it's a transparent sulfosalt! No real damage to speak of, and valued in our inventory at $1450. Ex Frank Keutsch Collection.
